Clive Stafford-Smith is a respected human-rights lawyer. He lived in the U.S. for 20 years where his legal practice was devoted to defending death row prisoners. Now in England, he runs Reprieve, a U.K. charity that fights for the lives of people facing the death penalty and other human rights violations.

His book about Guantanamo and the repercussions for human rights around the world, BAD MEN, is published in the U.K. by Weidenfeld & Nicolson and by Nation Books in the U.S.
