Amy Ryan

Amy Ryan grew up in Jackson, Wyoming, reading and adoring books by Madeleine L'Engle, Susan Cooper and Judy Blume. She skipped around in college until she finally found the right fit in the anthropology department at the University of Wyoming. Always, she knew she wanted to write.

After college, she moved to Vermont where she got an MA in English Literature. It was there she realized how much she needed to learn in order to realize her dream of becoming a fiction writer for teens. She applied and was accepted to the New School Creative Writing for Children Program where she studied with Tor Seidler, Michele Spirn, Deborah Brodie, and Stephanie Spinner.

Her young adult novel, VIBES, about a teen psychic, was published by Houghton Mifflin in 2008.
