Linda Olsson

ASTRID & VERONIKA
Veronika, a woman in her early thirties, rents a house in the Swedish countryside during the winter to complete a novel. The snowy landscape is stark and often icy. She befriends Astrid, a reclusive old woman who lives nearby.

With the strange Swedish environment always a presence, Olsson leads us through the flowering of an unusual and tender friendship between Veronika and Astrid as, slowly and carefully, they tell each other their life histories. The novel moves back and forth in time, the seasons slowly unfolding around it.
