Colette Livermore

Colette Livermore was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1954. At eighteen, she joined Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity after seeing a film about Mother's work with the poor.

As Sister Tobit she was with the order for eleven years, serving in Papua New Guinea, India, Hong Kong, and the Australian outback.

After she left the order in 1984, at age thirty, Livermore earned her medical degree from the University of Queensland. Since then she has worked in Australia's Northern Territory; in Aileu, East Timor; and on the New South Wales Central Coast, where she currently lives.

HOPE ENDURES: Leaving Mother Teresa, Losing Faith, and Searching for Meaning is a memoir of her work as a nun.
