Perle Besserman

 



Perle Besserman, the recipient of the Theodore Hoepfner Fiction Award and past writer-in-residence at the Mishkenot Sha’ananim Artists’ Colony in Jerusalem, was praised by I.B. Singer for the “clarity and feeling for mystic lore” in her writing and by Publisher’s Weekly for its “wisdom [that] points to a universal practice of the heart.”

She is the author of A NEW ZEN FOR WOMEN and A NEW KABBALAH FOR WOMEN. Her short fiction has appeared in The Southern Humanities Review, AGNI and Transatlantic Review, among others. Her non-fiction publications have been released in both audio and e-book versions and translated into several languages.

Besserman's work has been featured all around the world in television, radio and documentaries. Perle currently divides her time between Melbourne, Australia and Honolulu, Hawaii.
